Notes
- Esmerelde is a Romani soldier, a lieutenant of what is increasingly being put down as an 'army of thieves and whores.' Which, granted, Esmerelde knows a few of both categories, some of which are part of her retinue, but they are also a band of tough fighters, mercenaries, and one or two savvy clerks and lawyers plying their trade across several city-states.
- In addition to her skills with a zweihander and the cestus (either slashing them or punching her enemies to death) she also carries a number of potions she loves the throw, including flasks of acid, bottled lightning, and potent bottles of Greek Fire.
- Her sworn enemy is a man named Minister Frollo, the grand vizier to one of the princes who rule the various city-states in the Known World. Had Frollo had his way, Esmerelde may have been burned at the stake or forced to be his concubine had she not managed to escape at a great cost to her unit. Now he's got a bounty on her that might set her own companions against her.
